The Programme
- Introduction to basic cooking skills and healthy eating education.
- Improving knowledge in relation to budgeting, shopping and furthering knowledge of food additives, qualities and good nutrition.
- Holistic therapies available are reflexology, aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, relaxation methods and other holistic therapies.
- Music, art therapy, drama, dance/drama therapy, current affairs and games, will be incorporated into the daily therapy programme and all residents will be encouraged to participate in these activities.
- Local college courses are available to assist with social inclusion gaining qualification and hopefully leading to voluntary work experience.
- To highlight coping skills and strategies to assist with any deeper lying psychological problems or trauma, through Counselling, Psychotherapy and Therapeutic Activities.
- Budgeting skills and financial stability will be encouraged.
Approximately 2-3 months prior to discharge home and work environment will be addressed. Care plans will be tailored towards the home environment and practical tools including checklists will be developed to ensure a smooth transition from a staffed facility to independent living.

Respite Care Service
A respite care facility is available at Column House, residents who require a break from their regular care provider, subject to assessment and suitability for the type of service offered by Column Care. Fees are based on resident needs and will be discussed fully following assessment with the appropriate agency/individuals involved.
